About the Speaker
Virginie De Visscher Director of Business Development, Economic Sectors, Destination Canada is responsible for leading the development and managing the implementation of Destination Canada's economic sector strategy. She is also responsible for increasing overnight visitations to Canada by attracting business events from international markets in alignment with economic sectors identified in Canada's Trade and Investment Strategy.
Virginie has an extensive background in business development and international operations with 17 years' experience. She has lived and worked in more than seven countries in Asia, Africa and Europe before moving to Canada in 2010, where she was director of international trade at the World Trade Centre Winnipeg for five years.
Virginie is the Honorary Consol for the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Manitoba and is a certified International Trade Professional (CITP) through the Forum for International Trade Training. Virginie holds a Masters of Science from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences at the Catholic University of Louvain (UCL) in Belgium, and a diploma of Engineering in Agriculture. She is originally from Belgium and has language skills in French, English, Spanish, Dutch and Bahasa Indonesia.
