Volunteer Opportunity: Webinar Work Group

The Webinar Work Group is responsible for organizing webinars on topics which are timely and relevant to CESSE members.  

Term of service: November 2018 through December 2019
Estimated # of hours:   approx. 36 hours annually

2019 Deliverables:
  • Develop a 2019 webinar calendar
  • Organize at least six webinars to be presented in 2019
Volunteer Expectations:
  • Participate in a monthly one-hour conference call/web meeting
  • Assist in organizing at least two webinars
    • Organizing the webinar includes identifying topics, developing the webinar title, description and learning objectives, recruiting speakers/facilitator, holding at least one development call with the speakers/facilitator, assist with slide preparation, obtain or develop resources for attendees, review and share survey results and send appropriate thank you notes to speakers/facilitator. 
  • Attend webinars 
  • Promote webinars to staff and colleagues

Desired Volunteer Attributes:
 - Individuals who stay informed about trends, new concepts, technologies, innovation and strategies affecting associations
 - Individuals who are willing to dig into identifying topics and designing webinars 
 - Individiduals who are omfortable contacting, recruiting and working with speakers and facilitators both within and outside the CESSE network
 - Individuals who follow through with the work they have committed to do

Volunteer Opportunity: Shared Interest Group (SIG) Work Group

The Shared Interest Group (SIG) Work Group is responsible for launching at least four CESSE Shared Interest Groups in the areas of Membership, Publishing, Education & Training and 2019. 

Term of service: December 2018 through December 2019
Estimated # of hours:   approx. 60 hours annually

2019 Deliverables: 
  • Develop materials and resources needed to launch and maintain Shared Interest Groups
    • Materials and resources could include items to recruit, onboard, engage and retain group members, volunteer opportunities within the Shared Interest Group, organizing live or virtual events, resources and tools available to Shared Interest Groups, timelines for launching groups etc should be included. 
  • Launch at least four shared interest groups in 2019
Volunteer Expectations:
  • Participate in a monthly one-hour conference call/web meeting
  • Actively collaborate with other work group members and assist in develop materials and resources Shared Interest Groups
  • Lead the activities to help launch/reinvigorate one Shared Interest Group in 2019
  • Recruit successors to lead the Shared Interest Group for 2020 and beyond
  • Promote shared interest groups to staff and colleagues
Desired Volunteer Attributes:
 - Understands the CESSE network
 - Has ideas on how to facilitate connections between members
 - Is willing to roll-up their sleeves and get things done
 - Individuals who follow through with the work they have committed to do

Volunteer Opportunity: Awards & Recognition Work Group

The Awards & Recognition Work Group is responsible for developing recognition opportunities and evaluate existing or new awards for CESSE members.  

Term of service: December 2018 through December 2019
Estimated # of hours:   approx. 48 hours annually

2019 Deliverables: 
  • Identify opportunities to recognize and celebrate the work of CESSE members
  • Develop the strategy to promote recognition opportunities within the CESSE network
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for existing CESSE awards
Volunteer Expectations:
  • Participate in 8-10 conference call/web meetings 
  • Review and provide feedback about the existing CESSE Awards
  • Collaborate with other group members to develop and promote recognition opportunities
  • Promote CESSE awards and recognition activities to staff and colleagues
Desired Volunteer Attributes:
 - Understands the CESSE network
 - Individuals who have ideas for member recognition over and above an awards program.
 - Individuals who are interested in creating and running a well-rounded awards and recognition program.
 - Individuals who will seek out nominations through individual e-mails and phone calls. 
 - Individuals who follow through with the work they have committed to do
