Membership Options

Section 1. Eligibility for Membership Staff of societies that meet the criteria below may be considered for membership.

A. Staff of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) societies are eligible for membership in CESSE if the society:
1. Exists to fulfill a STEM purpose or to serve the needs of a STEM audience; AND
2. Has non-profit status consistent with its definition in the U.S. or Canada.

Section 2. Member Classes and Qualifications Members of CESSE are staff of societies that meet the CESSE definition of STEM societies in Section 1 above.

A. Members Once a society has met the CESSE definition of STEM societies in Section 1 above, any staff may become a Member upon request. Members may retain their individual membership in CESSE for up to 24 months following their departure from a CESSE organization for reasons other than retirement.
B. Honorary Members The CESSE Board of Directors may elect to Honorary Membership an individual who has performed extraordinary service or services to CESSE.
C. Emeritus Members Any Member in good standing who is at least 65 years old, is fully retired from professional employment, and who has been an active member of CESSE for a minimum of 15 consecutive years, may obtain Emeritus Member status upon application certifying that these requirements are met. Emeritus Members are not eligible to vote or to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.

 Dues are $100 for the CEO and $50 for each additional staff person who joins.
