MORNING SESSION:  9:00 am—12:00 pm

LEAN:  Good for the Member, Good for Us!

Facilitator:  Drew Locher, Founder, Change Management Associates

Case Studies:  Mike Moss, Sr. Director, Operations & Education, NACE; Jim Warren, Director, Member Services & Education, FMA

Like many of our members, the CESSE community has struggled with shrinking revenues and returns on investments, less demand for our products and services, and finally the painful R-thing…Reductions in Force (RIFS).   In tough times, it’s pretty typical for associations to neither drop programs, nor introduce new ones; we just get the existing work done with less staff.  This is the point where many of our flawed, inefficient  processes are made visible -  and a great time to look at what lean applied to business processes can do for your association!

Attend and learn:
• The history of lean:  how it found its way to the office
• What lean is with examples applied to office settings
• The lean tools and where to apply them:  Five-S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events, Cell Design
• Case studies of associations using lean:  FMA, NACE
• Action plan to use the tool:  what to do when you get back

AFTERNOON SESSION:  1:00 PM—3:30 PM

• Do my member’s really care about the “green” issue?
